Jewett Park 2.0 Renovation Project
Location: Jewett Park, 836 Jewett Park Drive
Project Start Date:March 2024
Project End Date: November 2024
In 2023 the Deerfield Park District was awarded a $600,000 grant from the IDNR’s Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) grant program for the completion of the Jewett Park 2.0 renovation project which started in 2019.
The completion of the project focuses on enhancing the northern half of the park with a range of exciting amenities. These additions will include a new playground, a concert pavilion, a challenge course, a family game area with a gaga pit, bocce court, baggo and ping pong, a natural area with native trees and pollinators, a picnic shelter, a council ring and interpretive signage, a water fountain and approved accessibility throughout the park.
Some areas will be closed during construction, but some existing park areas will remain accessible for community enjoyment. During construction, the playground, library-to-park stairs, pavilion rentals, and northside bathrooms near the playground will be closed. However, the ballfields, and skatepark will remain open. Keep an eye out for further updates as we progress towards the exciting transformation of Jewett Park!
